AL.com’s SEC football players of the week for Week 3

Here are AL.com’s SEC football players of the week for Week 3 of the 2023 season:

Offense

Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU — Daniels, a senior from San Bernardino, Calif., approached perfection in a 41-14 victory at Mississippi State to open SEC play on Saturday. He completed 30 of 34 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 64 yards and two more scores on 15 carries.

Defense

Dallas Turner, LB, Alabama — Turner, a junior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., did everything he could to keep his team in the game on a dismal offensive day for the Crimson Tide at South Florida. He totaled seven tackles and 2.5 sacks and also forced a fumble in a 17-3 Alabama win.
